Short Films Hit The Spot

Freezing in my apartment

Snuggled into my blankets to keep warm

Watching [short] films by Tim Burton

Now I need a nice cup of hot chocolate

Don't hold back on the whipped cream

Bringing Back The Old Me

Growing up, I never had a specific hobby I stuck with.
I always seeked out to try something new all the time.
I believe my mother loved that I went for anything.
Not sure if I was confident, or that I didn't care of failing.
One hobby I cherished the most was my art class.
Something about the smell of oil paints and turpentine
got me so excited knowing that I would be able to get away.

Get away from the worldly things and just be at peace...
with the oldies radio station playing in the background,
my paint brush in my right hand, canvas in front of me,
& the long tubes of paint... sweet escape.
There is a close family friend,
[ I like to consider him my uncle ]
his name is Church.
I love his work & it inspires me.
He is an artist that I can learn from.
I got to paint with him in his studio recently.
I'm hoping this will be a very frequent motion.
My destination is to take a few hours to myself,
[ at least every week ] & just paint.
I'm going to bring back the old me.
It has been too many years.

Painted back in 1999.

I was 11 yrs old.

Easter Sunday

Oh Spring, you have been so nice this year. So much laughter and joy I have had during this Easter time. I had a grand time at my grandma & grandpa Tolman's house on Easter Sunday. Of course, like every year, it has been a tradition that all of my dad's brother's and sister's come to grandma's house with their children (I'm the 2nd oldest of 23 grandchildren). So there is a lot of love and a lot of children in this adorable house. When I walked into the house, grandpa pointed out that there was a bounce out in their backyard. My reaction.... "WHAT?!"

So for the 22 1/2 years of my life, I have NEVER seen a bounce house in their backyard. I couldn't figure out why on earth the first time there was a bounce house in the backyard on a holiday/celebration like Easter. Grandpa went on to explain that grandma wanted to keep up with the neighbors because they are always throwing parties and having fun bounce houses for the kids all the time. Grandpa also invited us to come outside so that he could demonstrate the proper and "only" way to enter/exit the bounce house. He likes to call this the Elephant Seal.

I love my grandparents!

If I Could I Would

If I could pick one place to shop for my daily dress attire [from head to toe], furnish & decor in my aparement... it would be from Anthropologie. I wouldn't deny that I am in love with that store. I get so excited to walk around and be inspired by everything around me. It makes me want to design and sew a chic modern dress to wear on a beautiful summer day.. or have a house to design with vintage inspired furniture.

This is where I have struggles with what I want to go to school for. I love love love design in different departments. Interior Design is what I want to put my focus towards. I don't believe it will be difficult to do that, but I can't help it when I have such urges to want to go to a fabric store up in LA and create something new on my mannequin. Creating some beautiful window display for Anthropologie had crossed my mind too. I like to stop and admire what is on the outside of the store just as much as I do when I go inside. (sigh)

Best thing to do is not worry... When I get back into school this Fall I will be able to explore designing and see where my passion leads me towards most. Nothing can go wrong with that.

Here are some recent pickings I really would love to have from Anthropologie...

Hello Blog

Hi, my name is Nancy and I love life.

Hopefully I will be able to keep up with blogging about my thoughts, adventures, and anything that is worth blogging about. I don't expect anyone to understand my blogs, because they are coming straight from me, Nancy Corraine Tolman.

I have a pretty interesting life, to say the least.
Luckily there is someone I get to share my life with...
My handsome, caring, loving boyfriend : Ryan J Waldron

There are so many things I can list that I am grateful for,
but I will just say one right now... my Heavenly Father.
No matter where I am in life, he is there. ALWAYS.
& I am so thankful for that.

Now I didn't plan to put time aside to write my very first blog,
so I will try to make this short & sweet.

I love my family dearly & they are the world to me.
Of course my "second" family (The Waldron's) is as well.
There will be more things to say about both families as I blog on...

I have just begun my new hobby.. GARDENING.
& I am thrilled!!!
