my favorite little guy

i am so grateful that i get to be a mother to raglan. he is such a bundle of joy and makes life wonderful. he really is the perfect addition to our family. we are absolutely smitten by him.

a little bit about raglan....

// he weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches long.

// this 15 weeks (16 weeks tomorrow!) old baby is healthy and loving life.

// he loves when he sees his mommy and daddy.

// he loves to talk.

// he laughs and gives us a big open gummy smile when we play with him.

// depending on his mood he either gets super excited and wiggly or he gets bashful when he sees people.

// actually, he is usually always wiggly... and it is like a game for him to see if mommy can take his picture of him not all blurry.

// he is a flirt (the past couple sundays he has been flirting with the older women at our church).

// he loves his hands and is getting better everyday at using them.

// raglan really concentrates whenever he has his eyes on daddy's feet and mimics by moving his own feet and toes.

// he loves bath time.

// he loves when mommy gives him a massage after bath time.

// he loves when i sing to him. he perks up and has the happiest look on his face.

// he is a thumb sucker! (i'm on the fence of whether i am happy about this or not... mostly because he gags at any pacifier we give him)

// he is rolling over all on his own! but he is not so happy when he gets on his tummy still... (see the 4th picture)

baby blessing

August 11th was Raglan's baby blessing. We felt so loved for having so much family come and share this special moment with us. I am so grateful for a loving husband who honors the sacred priesthood he holds. Ryan did such a beautiful job blessing Raglan. He is such a wonderful father. My heart just melts when I see Raglan's face light up and his body go out of control with wiggles when he sees his daddy.

Raglan all ready to go!

Oh and did I mention that Ryan made delicious pulled pork sliders? Yes he did. They were delicious!

15 weeks

Raglan turned 15 weeks today. I just took this picture seconds ago and decided to do a quick post before he wakes up and wants my full attention. Doesn't he look so peaceful? Oh I love him so.

first family vacation

So our first family vacation with Raglan was a success! We loved getting away from home for a couple days and being out in June Lake. Our friend's family has a beautiful ranch we got to stay at and we are so grateful for them to invite us. The drive up was about 6 hours and Raglan was a trooper. We left very early in the morning and he slept most of the time. I am hoping that is a good sign of more road trips to come! It was fun to hang out with our friends and their little ones. Soon Raglan will be old enough to play and interact with the other kids.

The first thing we did was go on a hike in Mammoth. Raglan was also a trooper for this too. He mostly slept in the ergo carrier and then enjoyed being held to look around at nature as we explored on our hike.

One of the mornings the dads watched the littles while moms went to get massages at the spa. Then when we got back we watched the littles while dads got to go fishing.

Of course you have to really time it right for picture opportunities with babies. I was pushing it a bit long with Raglan. You can tell by his sad little face. Don't worry, after these pictures were taken I fed him and put him right to sleep and he was a happy little boy.

see???? happy baby :)

Before we headed out on our last day Ryan wanted to take me and Raglan out to fish at the pond on the property. Raglan got to hang out with daddy while fishing. I'm looking forward when Raglan is big enough for Ryan to teach him how to fish.

first holiday

Raglan's first holiday was the 4th of July. We had a very mellow holiday since Raglan was only 1 week 5 days old. We went over to the Waldron's house for some yummy BBQ.

Then for fireworks we went back home and watched all the big illegal fireworks that all the houses around us were firing off. Raglan was such a trooper and slept through most of all the loud noise. Next year we will have to introduce him to the sparklers!

teeny tiny

The first week of Raglan's life was very emotional for me. I just could not stop looking at all of his little features and seeing me and Ryan in him. There are so many moments where he would just stare deeply into my eyes and I would just stop whatever I was doing and just take in the special moment of us just looking at each other. He totally knows who is momma is and he is so alert when he is awake.

4 days old
No one can ever prepare you for pregnancy, giving birth and then going home with the most perfect tiny little baby that is completely under your care. It is not easy but with how much my heart is filled with love for Raglan it is totally worth it.

Raglan Hai Waldron

the past few weeks i have been recovering from giving birth to our sweet baby boy and getting the hang of being a new mother, so that would be the (very good) reason why i have not posted anything about baby till now. we are such proud parents and so in love him.

here is our little guy.
just one day old.

raglan hai waldron
raglan is 5 1/2 weeks old now and already has grown so much since birth! i cannot believe how fast a baby can grow. we had decided shortly after finding out i was pregnant that i would have a natural birth... no pain meds or other drugs. we took a 12 week class with the bradley method so we had planned on laboring as long as i could at home. ryan is a certified doula and was a wonderful husband couch while i was laboring. i'm not much of a story teller but here are some details from the birth...

june 21 at 11:30pm i felt my first real contraction. i was able to sleep through my contractions till about 6am. ryan helped me with relaxation and getting through the contractions. about 8am the contractions started to get pretty strong as they came to the peak. i felt that a bath would help me out so ryan ran me a bath and i got in about 9am. after being in the bath for a short time i realized that i really could not relax through the contractions and that was when ryan said we needed to go to the hospital right away. i did the best i could to get dressed and head out the door with contractions that were doubled on top of each other and only seconds apart! that was not an easy thing to do (turns out i was holding the baby in... very painful and something we did not plan for). i was in a lot of pain and it really came on fast for me. the whole car ride there i kept telling ryan that the baby was coming and i was trying my best not to push. i really could have had the baby in the car, no joke. ryan drove as fast as he could down PCH to the hospital and we arrived at 10:15am. i got onto the delivery bed at 10:17am where the nurse checked to see how far along i was. she told us i had no cervix and was completely dilated! baby was coming now! things happened real fast at this point and my waters ruptured at 10:24am and after four pushes baby boy came out at 10:41am on june 22, 2013...

20 inches long 7 pounds 5 ounces.
10 fingers 10 toes and as strong as an ox.
 alert, calm and healthy.

i felt so good after the birth and was wanting to walk to the recovery room, but hospital policy forced me to sit in a wheel chair while the nurse took us to the recovery floor and into our room. we only stayed for one evening and headed home with our perfect little baby.

now for some pictures :)

38 weeks

Baby boy can come any day now! Ryan and I are so excited to meet him. These next couple weeks will be a waiting game for us. I feel like just yesterday people could barely tell that I was pregnant.. Now my belly is huge and I'm sure will keep growing as long as he is in there. I haven't taken many photos during this pregnancy because I was either lazy or time flew by and I realized I'm full term. If baby doesn't come by next week I will do my best to get another shot of this growing belly.

Busy Bee

It has been a while (a very long while) since I have given any updates on the pregnancy. Ryan and I have been busy and getting our home ready for the new little addition to our family. The past few months have gone really well and doctor keeps saying that everything is going perfect. This little man is a mover! Now that he doesn't have much room to maneuver he spends a lot of time stretching than doing his usual aerobics. He gets hiccups often throughout the day. This baby is getting his lungs ready for that first breath of air. We can't wait to meet him!
