first family vacation

So our first family vacation with Raglan was a success! We loved getting away from home for a couple days and being out in June Lake. Our friend's family has a beautiful ranch we got to stay at and we are so grateful for them to invite us. The drive up was about 6 hours and Raglan was a trooper. We left very early in the morning and he slept most of the time. I am hoping that is a good sign of more road trips to come! It was fun to hang out with our friends and their little ones. Soon Raglan will be old enough to play and interact with the other kids.

The first thing we did was go on a hike in Mammoth. Raglan was also a trooper for this too. He mostly slept in the ergo carrier and then enjoyed being held to look around at nature as we explored on our hike.

One of the mornings the dads watched the littles while moms went to get massages at the spa. Then when we got back we watched the littles while dads got to go fishing.

Of course you have to really time it right for picture opportunities with babies. I was pushing it a bit long with Raglan. You can tell by his sad little face. Don't worry, after these pictures were taken I fed him and put him right to sleep and he was a happy little boy.

see???? happy baby :)

Before we headed out on our last day Ryan wanted to take me and Raglan out to fish at the pond on the property. Raglan got to hang out with daddy while fishing. I'm looking forward when Raglan is big enough for Ryan to teach him how to fish.

first holiday

Raglan's first holiday was the 4th of July. We had a very mellow holiday since Raglan was only 1 week 5 days old. We went over to the Waldron's house for some yummy BBQ.

Then for fireworks we went back home and watched all the big illegal fireworks that all the houses around us were firing off. Raglan was such a trooper and slept through most of all the loud noise. Next year we will have to introduce him to the sparklers!

teeny tiny

The first week of Raglan's life was very emotional for me. I just could not stop looking at all of his little features and seeing me and Ryan in him. There are so many moments where he would just stare deeply into my eyes and I would just stop whatever I was doing and just take in the special moment of us just looking at each other. He totally knows who is momma is and he is so alert when he is awake.

No one can ever prepare you for pregnancy, giving birth and then going home with the most perfect tiny little baby that is completely under your care. It is not easy but with how much my heart is filled with love for Raglan it is totally worth it.
